AENG 201: Advanced Engineering Mathematics

Formulation and solution of differential and systems equations in engineering. 3 hrs per week (class); credit 3 units. Offered 1st semester only. Prerequisite: MATH 28 or its equivalent.

AENG 203: Heat, Mass, and Momentum Transport

Principles of transport phenomena and their application to agricultural, biological and food systems. 3 hrs per week (class); credit 3 units. Offered 2nd semester only. Prerequisite: Consent of Instructor (COI).

AENG 204: Advanced Thermodynamics

Thermodynamic theory of irreversible processes, selected applications in phyiological unit operations and separation processes. 3 hrs per week (class); credit 3 units. Offered 2nd semester only. Prerequisite: AENG 135 or COI

AENG 205: Numerical Methods in Thermo-Fluid Engineering

Finite difference, finite element analysis and applications in agricultural process engineering. 3 hrs per week (class); credit 3 units. Offered 2nd semester only. Prerequisite: AENG 201 or COI.

AENG 225: Advanced Heat Transfer

Analysis and application of steady state and transient heat conduction, radiant heat transfer, spectral properties, radiation networks, natural and forced convective transfer of heat and mass in boundary layers and in fluids with phase change. 3 hrs per week (class); credit 3 units. Offered 2nd semester only. Prerequisite: ENSC 14a or COI.

AENG 226: Convective Heat Transfer

Equations of convective heat transfer, solutions to laminar and turbulent forced convection, free and mixed convective heat transfer, property variation, condensation and heat transfer in porous media. 3 hrs per week (class); credit 3 units. Offered 1st semester only. Prerequisite: AENG 225 or COI.

AENG 232: Drying, Storage, And Preservation of Cereal and Forage Crops

Systems for drying, storage and preservation of cereal and forage crops, theory of mass and heat transfer during drying and its relation to quality control. 5 hrs per week (2 class, 3 lab); credit 3 units. Offered 1st semester only. Prerequisite: COI.

AENG 233: Agricultural Process Engineering

Design and operations of systems for drying and storage, material handling and refrigeration, other unit operations in the processing of agricultural products. 5 hrs per week (2 class, 3 lab); credit 3 units. Offered 2nd semester only. Prerequisite: COI.

AENG 235: Agricultural Process Systems Analysis and Design

Modeling agricultural process equipment, system simulation, economic analysis of process systems. 3 hrs per week (class); credit 3 units. Offered 1st semester only. Prerequisite: AENG 233.

AENG 236: Physical Properties of Agricultural Materials

Measurement and application of mechanical, rheological, thermal, and electrical properties of agricultural materials. 5 hrs per week (2 class, 3 lab); credit 3 units. Offered 2nd semester only. Prerequisite: AENG 233 or COI.

AENG 237: Process Control in Agricultural Process Engineering
